Fried Backstrap

Ingredients

  • 1 side deer backstrap, cut into 1" chops
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Crisco shortening

Instructions

In a bag, combine the flour, pepper, salt and garlic.

Add the meat and shake to coat.

Heat a few tablespoons of Crisco in a skillet.

When it is very hot add the meat.

Cook over medium/high heat and cook into crispy brown flipping as needed.

Drain on paper towels.

Serve with rice or boiled potatoes.
