But in the field, I do the same thing except I hold down the back and front legs with my foot and pull up. |

i raise rabbits and you can cook them anyway just like a chicken. as in skinning sqirrels, i gut them in the woods, and when i get home i duck them in water, that way the fur dosn't fly everywhere. then i just make a cut all around the middle of the body and pull both direction. When i get to where the head is i cut the head and feet off, then i cut the back feet off. then soake it in salt water over night and then fry him up. |

if you will hold the squirrel by the tail looking at it's rear, and make a slit thru the joint that holds the tail, and up the back just a 1/2 inch and put your foot on the tail, and pull with back legs,it will all peel to the head. It will leave the back legs so you just grad the skin a base of legs and pull that up and you never touch the meat, thus mno hair. |

When cleaning a squirrel lay it on it's belly and then make a cut on it's back from side to side in the middle of the back. then on both sides of the cut stick your fingers in the cut and pull in both directions they can be tuff but you can do it. there will be a little hair left but not much. And when cooking I like to preasure cook it for about 15 minutes to make it tender or boil for about 30 to 40 minutes. Then roll it in flour and cook fry like chicken make some fried taters and onions and put gravy over the squirrel you will love it. |
